In line with company’s vision to energize lives, CSR initiatives are undertaken for development of the poorer sections of the society. One such initiative taken up by BPCL was the support for construction of farmers’ dormitory blocks, staff quarters and dining block at Ekalavya Centre for Organic Agriculture Research and Training (ECOART) in partnership with Ekalavya Foundation at Vikarabad District, Telangana. The inauguration of the same was done by Shri K. Padmakar, Chairman & Managing Director on February 10, 2021 (Wednesday) in the presence of Mr P. S Ravi, Executive Director (Retail), Mr Kurian Parambi, Executive Director (HR), Mr Saibal Mukherjee, State Head (Retail) Telangana along with other dignitaries from BPCL & Ekalavya Foundation.
Ekalavya Foundation is working in the areas of rural and urban upliftment of socially and financially marginalized communities through its various programs in the field of organic farming & community empowerment/development. The institute also conducts research on various organic farming practices in collaboration with reputed research institutes thus moulding youngsters in organic farming and support them to become change agents for social and financial upliftment of rural communities in the long run.
The facilities provided by BPCL would ensure safe and comfortable accommodation/dining facilities to the farmers on the campus hailing from nearby villages and would also help them gain training in organic farming methods and practices; which would ultimately help them achieve self-sufficiency in farming and allied agri-farming activities for better livelihood management.
We are positive that we will be able to bring greater change in the community, empowering the rural population to grow in a better and more progressive environment, by taking up such initiatives.

IISc is India’s premier institution for higher education and research. The Institute is keen on encouraging more women students to pursue careers in science and engineering, in order to address the gender inequality in science and technology. It has produced several outstanding women scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs of India. Currently about 25% of students at IISc are women and the proportion has been increasing continuously in recent times. To support this increasing number, the Institute needed to establish a new women’s hostel with modern amenities. Several women students also come from disadvantaged sections of the community and from backward regions and far-flung areas, and therefore require sufficient, secure and comfortable accommodation on campus.
Contribution towards the nation building has always been the constant endeavour of BPCL and we strive to take it to greater heights every day!
